Wow!  This has been a busy month -- for everyone I'm sure.  I assume I am not the only reflecting on where did the entire month of January go.  January, for me anyway, starts of with such a long mental list of everything that I need and want to accomplish for not only the month but for the upcoming year.  This is a wonderful time to declutter, organize, restructure and revision.  And then, the reality sinks in usually in the form of very large snow storms that come in hard and frequently in New England.  This past month, we have had a large snow storm nearly every Friday.  This past week alone we have had 2 signifiicant plowable snow storms followed by freezing winds, melting and freezing.  It is certainly winter here in the northeast

On to other news, I have finally finished my Simply Chic Sweater and have published the pattern.  It is available for digital file purchase from my site at:  Starlightknit.com This sweater was a true joy to knit not only because of the simplicist design but becauase the wool I chose is soft to the touch (a must for hand knit garments!) but the colorway has very slight flecks of color and light gradients of the shading which almost is hypnotizing while knitting.  I had purchased this wool from Knit Wit in Portland Maine

Another project i have completed in a beauitful shawl made from Bad Sheep Yarn Company in Northpole Alaska in the enchanting colorway of Spell on You.

I have also been exploring the exciting world of crochet and have been so delighted with making new hats.  I have been experimenting with over-the-top luxuruous pompoms and without a doubt having much fun.

I learned to crochet around the same time I learned to knit however crochet fashion in the 1970s was...well, how can I say---was--interesting.  However I am beyond exciting to create in this new avenue for me.  Stay tuned to see what I create.

Until next time,

Leona
